Memories.

I just spent 30 minutes going through old pictures; some from when I was a little little kid, some from middle school & some from high school. I am friends with very few of the people I was friends w/ back then.. honestly, I think I only talk to one of them on a regular basis. Some I'm "friends" with on Facebook, and occasionally leave them a wall post..

Does this make me a bad person? I don't think it does, our lives have just gone different ways. Some of the friendships I had in middle school didn't last through high school. Most of my high school friendships didn't make it through the first few years of being in "the real world".

Does this make me sad? No, not really.  I have a great life, and I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything.  I have a wonderful husband; and a select few great friends. I am thankful for the friendships that I do have. .. I want people in my life who are supportive of me, people whom I can go to when I need to talk, or people who can come to me when they need to talk.

I found some old pictures of me from when I was a baby. Kinda funny, not much has changed.. besides the fact that now I'm 25.

Fishin' at m Papa Jack's house. I was probably 3 or 4. I think my grandma was out there with me. I can't say that I really remember.
Look at my face! Priceless! That fish looks like it was heavy! I got my knee cocked out and everything.. heck, i still fish like that!

Sebastian Inlet, at the "pointe" .. We haven't been to Sebastian in probably a year. That is so sad. We used to go almost every single weekend, even thought it was a 2hr drive. We really do love fishing. I caught my first Jack Crevalle, and my first Trout at this point. That trout was huge, wish I could find a picture of it on my computer. .. I can't find those pictures for some reason!  I also caught my first Snook in Sebastian, and my first Sheepshead.
This is me at Stump Pass last year on our vacation. For those non-fishers, that would be a snook. My favorite inshore fish to catch! ... this is at some ridiculous hour of the night, possibly morning. We spent many nights sleeping on the beach. Good times!

Me & a snook in Boca Grande. eaaaaaaarly in the morning!  Boca Grande Hammerhead  watch THAT video! Crazy!   We never saw any Hammerheads when we were in Boca, but we also weren't out on the boat; we were fishing from shore! I would love to see a hammerhead.. I love them. I even have a tattoo of one!

I have a few more pictures to post, but I have to take the hard copies to walgreens to get them converted onto a disk.. =)

I got a treadmill!

I found a treadmill on Craigslist. ... then all this happened w/ my job and I thought I better just wait because I'm going to be spending more money on gas, and I'm going to have to buy new clothes (which I did today, whew!) ... so I just forgot about the treadmill. Then the girl who was selling it text me Friday & asked if I was coming to look at it.. she said she would drop the price to $150 from $220. So I said okay. I asked Chris to go down there and look at it, it was about an hr away and I was getting off later then him. He said if he drives all the way down to Wauchula he's coming back w/ that treadmill.. i said okay!!!... He went down there and got it.

It's decent. I looked up some reviews and it's really not for running.. oh well. we only paid $150 for it.  I ran on it today, it was fine... It probably wouldn't do for marathon training more then once, but I don't plan on training for a marathon just yet. I just need it to get me through the summer heat.

So weird, most of the folks up north are happy for the summer to be here because they can run outdoors. Out door running sucks in Florida because its SO hot.. They need a treadmill for the winter, I need one for the summer.

Unfortunately the treadmill is currently located in Chris' garage.. and it's just as hot in there as it is outside. We have no room in the house for it right now.. plus a treadmill in a trailer? seems like it would be really noisy & shaky!  I'll be bringing it to my moms when I move up there in a week & a half.

I'm just excited to get back in the running game. I think i've run a whopping 6 miles for this entire month of May. That is the most pathetic thing ever!!
yay for getting back onto the running bandwagon!

God is in control...

Job hunting is stressful. I'm sure this is a widely known fact and you didn't need me to tell you that. I've been job hunting for a few weeks. We will be closing on our house June 15th and I wanted to have a job prior to closing.  So for weeks I've been stalking craigslist, employflorida, indeed.com, monster, and careerbuilder.. even though monster & careerbuilder aren't the best it's something. I applied for maybe 15-20 positions. Some of which I didn't really want to hear back from, but If I did I would have been okay and interviewed had they asked me to.

So last Friday, not yesterday, the Friday before, I was stalking Craigslist and came across an add for a medical biller/front desk/medical assistant. I thought this was for three separate positions. I e-mail the address given. FWD to Sunday night. I get an e-mail asking if I am available to talk over the phone about the position, and would I be available the next day for an interview. wow.

Monday morning. I go for the interview. I meet with the surgeon & another woman doctor. I there maybe 20 minutes or so. I felt like everything went pretty well, I had answers for all of their questions. I felt really confident going in.  BTW; the ad was not for 3 different positions.. One person, 3 jobs.  So I'm really excited about this job, I'm thinking this is going to be an awesome opportunity, I'm going to be exposed to surgical billing & and that will help my career... Monday afternoon after I get back to work the surgeon calls the doctor I currently work for to get a reference/recommendation.

Tuesday. I start freaking out. I don't know anything about surgical anything. How can I do billing for something I don't know anything about. My mind is just racing. I feel sick about it. I also had a phone interview Tuesday morning for another position @ a local hospital. That interview went well, they said they would be calling me for a 2nd interview.  Tuesday afternoon the surgeon calls my office manager for a recommendation.  Surgeon e-mails me and says he will call me on Wed. .....

Wednesday night, the woman Dr. calls me. She offers me the position, they want to bring me on as the office manager. We discuss it some.. I tell her I have to talk w/ my Husband.. they want me to start on May 26th. Obviously this is an issues as we won't close until June... there are a few other things that I'm slightly worried about. She says Okay, she'll call me Thursday night...

Thursday comes and goes.. The Surgeon e-mailed me around midnight Thursday night asking when he could contact me Friday.... by now my nerves are getting the best of me... By Friday I've thought of 100 reasons why I shouldn't take the job. The Surgeon calls me @ 1130... I start telling him why I'm not sure I'm right for the position. For every fear & concern I have regarding the position he has an answer & a solution. He made me feel 100% confident that I can do the job & that I will be good at it. .. I was going to turn down the offer, by the time we got off the phone I wanted to accept the offer. He said to think about it some more, think about it over the weekend, talk about it w/ Chris and he would call me on Monday.

God is in control. I wasn't going to take the position, but I seriously think God says that I am going to take it.. To me, he obviously wants me in that position. He made it available to me. There were answers & solutions for every problem or fear I had. I think its pretty obvious that's where I'm supposed to be.

So Monday I will accept the position. May 27th I will start as the office manager at a GI Surgeon's office. Pretty exciting! New & Exciting things are coming our way!

MidFlorida MayFair 5k Race Report.

Mid Florida MayFaire 5k. Whew! This race was tough! 1. it was hot as heck, and the humidity was awful! 2. no one told me there would be hills!!

There were over 1100 runners, and that would make this the largest 5k I've ever run in. I must admit, I am not a fan of that many people in such a small area. It was crowded through out the entire race. The streets were narrow & it never really opened up.

There was a water station, around 1.5 mile mark, so that was nice. It was definintly needed during this race. Normally i'm not a water drinker on a race that short, but it was scorching hot- even with the race starting at 7pm. ick.

Woo Hoo! There I am finishing! (that time is the gun time)

kinda hard to see me... i have a white shirt & silver sun glasses w/ blue lenses - and i look like i'm concentrating really hard.. or getting pissed because its so congested and I can't move.

Chip Time : 26:20
Age Division: 11/78
Women's Division:  67/624
Overall : 275/1142

Not to bad. My pace was 8:39, which was slower then I was aiming for but still pretty good. I really didn't do very much running prior to this race. I think I ran a total of 8 miles in the 2 wks prior to this race. Not very impressive.

I'm hunting for a new race to sign up for; just concerned because it gets so hot so early. We'll see.

I tried intervals...

and it was just freakin' hot!! .. I only made it 1.19mi.. pathetic. It rained super hard earlier today then it was so humid. It was just like running right into a brick wall.. awful... I left the track and went to play it again sports.. I clearly can not run in this heat. I did a .31mi warm up... then did .25mi intervals, 2 minute break, .25 interval, 2min break... i think i made it 3 intervals before i got back to my car and quit.  I feel like a quitter. .

Play it again sports had quite a few treadmills, but I don't have a large budget right now...and I can't wait. I plan on registering for a November half..which would put me starting to train July/Aug.. uh, if it was 90 today, on May 6th, I can only imagine what it will be in July.. blech!

So this weekend i'll be stalking Craigslist looking for a treadmill; probably not the best way to find a good TM but it's my only option. Hopefully I can find one and pick it up by next wknd!

In race related news I have a 5k Saturday evening; MidFlorida MayFaire 5k. I've never run an evening 5k... it will still probably be ridiculously hot. Oh well. What can ya do?

Tonight I had pancakes & turkey bacon for dinner, mmmm. Chris made oatmeal, eh. Gross. It was the old-fashioned kind..not the instant.. i like the instant for sure.

76* @ 8am

is not a good way to start the day...seriously? I knew it was going to be awful this morning.. I took the dogs out last night around 10 and i was sweating the second I walked out the door.. literally. It was so humid & hot. It was awful. I decided right then there was no way I was getting up early this morning to go run.. i decided to sleep in. & now i'm kind of kicking myself for it. I REALLY want to run but I just can't make myself go out in that heat.. I don't have any way of bringing water with me, and I can't do 6 or 7 miles in this heat w/o water. That's just stupid. I need to get a hydration belt but that's really not in my budget right now.. ughh. I guess i'm just going to turn into a fat blob..

don't mind me. I'm just playing pity party. I'm really starting to get stressed about moving. Like big time. I'm just freaking out about every little thing.
