I moved!!

I moved! I decided that I'm going to change my blog over to WordPress. I've read/heard lots of good things about it. Blogger drives me crazy, I can never make it do what I want it to do. So I'm going to try out WordPress..

http://lifeisbeachykeen.wordpress.com/   Follow me there!

So CLOSE!

We are (this) close to our house being done. It's crazy! Everyone say a prayer that we pass inspection Monday afternoon! If we pass we can get our certificate of occupancy & we can "move in"... meaning we will sleep there until we can actually move stuff in.

I will be so glad to be in our new house. I am not fond of living out of a suitcase; driving 100+ miles a day for work;and eating horribly; and not being able to run.

I am desperate to get back into running. At this point I'm afraid I'm going to have to start over. I honestly don't think I've run in 2+ wks. I can't wait to have the treadmill at our new house.. I will admit that I'm also looking forward to the cooler weather so I can run outdoors again. I'm not tough enough to run in the 90degree heat.

I'm enjoying my new job; We are still in the process of setting up the office, so there is not a whole lot for me to do at this point. I'm excited to actually open up & get things going. Although, I'm not sure how busy we will actually be since it's a new practice, he specializes in a pretty specific area of surgeries. We will see!

I'm supposed to be packing..... I stayed the night in Hernando Beach last night and got home to Davenport around 10:30 this morning. It's 6:45pm right now and I've packed one, that's right, ONE measly box. I came home and took a nap, I was ridiculously tired. Then I read & goofed off on the computer for a while. Chris is not going to be to happy about this =/   Eek! Guess I better get a few more boxes packed. I know I will be hating myself next weekend when we really are moving & I'm running around like a chicken with my head cut off because I didn't pack in advance.

February 7, 2010

The day I got married. On the West Coast Florida board on The Nest we started a "siggy challenge" -- This week , or today, the "challenge" was Your favorite kissing photo from your wedding day -

This was mine, hands down:
The colors are the true colors of the day. None of my pictures were photoshopped.. Well, I think there might be 3-5 that she did a few special things to. But I told our photographer I didn't want anything photoshopped. I wanted my pictures to look exactly as my wedding looked; It was a beautiful day!

There is one she photoshopped. My flowers were ah-mazing! Chris' mom made our bouquets. She ordered the flowers from a local florist friend of her's and then she put them together. They turned out so wonderful, I was so happy! They were absolutely perfect, and everything I wanted!
I loved my jewelry. I searched high & low for the perfect Starfish jewelry. This became quite a challenge. I ordered 2 different necklaces online; neither of them were "big" enough or sparkly enough.  I found this set at Caribbean Jubilee @ John's Pass in Madeira Beach.

My Dad was making me laugh the whole time we were walking down the "aisle"... I was laughing & crying; ans you can see from that crazy expression on my face. He kept asking me If I was sure, because if I wasn't he had a "getaway boat" waiting for me just off the beach.. Ha Ha!!

One more Day.

The weekend should be 3 days, not 2. I can't get everything done in 2 days; especially this weekend, I really just need an extra day. I spent all day yesterday at our new house, everything I wanted/needed to do took longer then I anticipated so I didn't get home until 8pm, bleh.

I stayed up till after 12am reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo , I'm SO close to being done, but I couldn't keep my eyes open long enough to finish it. Then I slept in way to late this morning, 9am. It was needed, but darn I had stuff to get done this morning.

I took Diva to PetSmart to get a haircut & nails trimmed... She must have been mad at me because while we were waiting for them to take her back she peed on the floor numerous times and THEN she squatted and took a poop. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I seriously wanted to die of embarrassment.. She has a shy bladder anyways, she pees every where when she gets really excited and meets new people.. I was expecting the pee, but the poop. Oh my.  They called a few hrs later and said she did really well, which surprised me, she HATES to have her hair cut.. We generally do it ourselves, but I wanted a full body cut, face and everything, and she will not let us do her face/head.

While Diva was getting groomed I went down to Target...to look for a book.. I left with almost $90 worth of stuff. WHAT HAPPENED??? I got the book I wanted though, ha!  I ended up strolling through the grocery section and saw some good deals on some snacks. Since Chris & I are going to be apart starting this week I needed to buy him some snacks he can pack in his lunch.... The bargain bins also sucked me in, and I got some good deals on hair clips, and hair bands.

I meandered through the book section, made a list of "to read" books. The next book, and the one I bought, that I'm going to read is The Girl who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson. Yes, I've been sucked into this series of books. After the initial financial mess in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo it got significantly more interesting and a really good read. I'm excited to start the next book.

I wrote down a few other books that I want to buy;
Look Again by Lisa Scottoline,
9th Judgement by James Patterson
A Soft Place to Land Susan Rebecca White

My blog has obviously taken a turn; while it used to be a lot of running blogs those seemed to have disappeared. I'm sorry. This weather, and my lack of time has gotten the best of me. I promise that once we are moved, and I have a more stable schedule I will resume my running & running posts. Until then, my blog will consist of whatever randomness is going on in my life, the books I'm reading, my new job, and our adventure of moving 2 hours away.

Heartbreaking.

R.I.P. Brian Underwood. I heard the most disgusting story today about a classmate who was killed senselessly.
It's absolutely heartbreaking that someone would kill another person over $20... There are not enough words to describe my disgust.

Was I friends w/ Brian? No. I haven't seen him in a few years, but I do remember the last time I saw & spoke with him.. some ridiculous hour of the morning at a Denny's in Winter Garden; after a late night @ Cowboys.

Daily Commercial Story   I'll let you read the story for yourself. This is from the local paper.
ABC Action News Report - another report on what happened.

I can not comprehend how people who were at the party couldn't pick up the phone & call 911? This story doesn't make sense. It's completely horrible.

Lake County Sheriffs Office -- arrested this murderer- disgusting.

I'm just shocked. It's just so shocking to me that people kill over $20... Did the murderer mean to kill him? Maybe not initially, but he with held treatment from Brian for 4 hours . ...

I hope justice is served, to the murderer & to all the people who stood around and watched; to the people who lied & said they picked him up on the side of the road; and to the people who did nothing but sit around and wait for the murderer to let Brian out of the house.

This is tragic.

Weirdness.

I follow quite a few blogs, I don't usually get to read daily but I catch up with them every few days. A fellow blogger Shelby @ Eat Drink Run live in NYC and has these WTF NYC moments from time to time.. So in honor of Shelby's WTF NYC.. I'm going to give you a WTH Winter Haven, FL.

I think I've mentioned I work in an Urgent Care Center and we sometimes get the oddest requests, or ridiculous questions. This one might take the cake.

Thursday afternoon I'm just sitting at my desk minding my own business, probably thinking about how close I am to my last day there; when this little old lady walks up. Debbie starts to talk to her to find out what she needs. She has a plastic bag in her hand, and a little bottle of something. She says "I wanted to get this tested"... Now, usually when someone comes in with a plastic bag and says "I want to get this tested" it's a stool culture that we've asked them to do.... so that's what I assumed. But she took it out of the bag and it was in this little bottle. A bottle that she could not have possibly pooped in, and the only way she could have got the poop in that bottle was to have picked it up and shoved it in there ::gag::  It was an odd shaped little plastic bottle, like a miniature syrup bottle.  So now I'm really curious as to what she has in that bottle... Coffee grounds. She wants us to test her coffee grounds.. huh? This isn't CSI lady, you don't just take your coffee grounds somewhere and ask for them to be tested... So she goes on and on about how she's been here, here, and here and no one will do it.. Uhm.. Duh. We test human specimens, not coffee grounds.. She will not leave. It's like she was not comprehending that we have no way to test for anything in her coffee. Not exactly sure what it was that she was looking for in that coffee. She said it's "Great Value brand and its Colombian flavor and it just doesn't taste right".. So clearly this means someone drugged it..or something. Finally she left and Debbie just looked at me and I busted out laughing. WTH Winter Haven? What is wrong with your citizens?

Today I am going over to our new house, yay! I have to go to the Lowe's over there to order appliances! I'm pretty excited to actually see the house itself, instead of in pictures!  Check out my other blog to see some updates pictures of what's been finished thus far. homebeachome

Last night we had "breakfast" for dinner. It was so good, we did the same thing last week, or the week before. I think we should make it a uh, ritual, to have breakfast for dinner @ least once a week. Last night we had sausage patties, grits & eggs. Question: If you live in the north.. Do you eat grits? Do you have grits?

Chris told me that "yankees" don't have grits, or that they don't eat grits, and they don't know what they are sometimes. Is this true?

back on the bandwagon..sort of.

This blog is going to be completely randomness that is my life right now.

I'm not running every day, but I feel like I'm kinda getting back on the running bandwagon. I ran yesterday when I got off work, granted it was only 2.14 miles.. it was H-O-T . I don't know which is worse, running on the treadmill in Chris' garage or running in the direct sun outside, hm, tough choice.

I will be moving to my mom's next week, and so will my treadmill. I *hope* that the treadmill will be inside , and that means air conditioning =)   .. I'm not proud to admit I'm happy to run inside in an air-conditioned house =/  But this FL heat is so intense; I never ever in a billion years thought I would say this, but I'm ready for it to just cool down a little.. for running purposes only; for all other purposes I love the hot weather.

I am reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Stieg Larsson; Its uhm, interesting. It is not the kind of book that I typically read. Honestly, I don't even know what really attracted me to it.

"Once you start The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, there's no turning back. This debut thriller--the first in a trilogy from the late Stieg Larsson--is a serious page-turner rivaling the best of Charlie HustonMichael Connelly. Mikael Blomkvist, a once-respected financial journalist, watches his professional life rapidly crumble around him. Prospects appear bleak until an unexpected (and unsettling) offer to resurrect his name is extended by an old-school titan of Swedish industry. The catch--and there's always a catch--is that Blomkvist must first spend a year researching a mysterious disappearance that has remained unsolved for nearly four decades. With few other options, he accepts and enlists the help of investigator Lisbeth Salander, a misunderstood genius with a cache of authority issues. Little is as it seems in Larsson's novel, but there is at least one constant: you really don't want to mess with the girl with the dragon tattoo. --Dave Callanan "

I'm not finished with it yet, I'm almost finished. Well, I just checked, I have about 100 more pages. I don't know what else could be revealed in the last 100 pages but we'll see. The first 80 pages were really hard to get through. It was really wordy, but after some encouragement from a book message board on the nest I hunkered down (hurricane Charlie anyone?) and kept on reading. It really picked up and it's actually turned into a twisted, manipulative, provocative, wordy, mystery. I would recommend it for sure!

Well, that is all for now I suppose. Grey's Season Finale is on, and this requires my full attention =/
